Easter Egg Hunt

Bennet and I joined our friends Sarah and Macey for an Easter Egg Hunt at the local college. It was sponsored by our credit union. There were tons of kids. The Easter Bunny was there too. But. . . Bennet took one look at him and buried her face in my shoulder.

Bennet kept trying to get under the rope into the Egg area early. Patience my dear girl.

Ooohh! A golden egg!

Don't mind me Macey, I'm just going to 'borrow' an egg or two.

So happy it's Spring!

Yes- more outdoor photos. After a cold winter of below zero temps and snow, when that brown grass shows up we're all over it. Bennet has a blast outside. When she wakes up she'll grab her shoes and head for the front door.

15 Months Old

I swear it feels like we just celebrated her first birthday, but Bennet is 15 months today. Nick hit TJMaxx this week and found this fancy denim dress. I have to say, Dad's got good taste!

Bennet's favorite things @15 months:
  • Dogs and saying 'Woof Woof' even to the birds
  • Spaghetti and any type of meat
  • The American Idol theme song "A whoo oooh"
  • Still digs the beads
  • Making monkey sounds to her bath towel
  • Helping brush Stoli & Jones. She likes to take the hair off the brush and put it back on them
  • Getting tickled
  • This little piggy went to market

Happy Half Birthday Nick!

Nick's birthday is July 16. But when he was little he never got to bring treats to school since he had a summer birthday. I know- very sad. So, his mom had him pick a day. He chose St. Patrick's Day- March 17. Each year we make cupcakes to celebrate!
Time to put our aprons on.
One handed egg cracking? That's a pro! Look good enough to eat already!
Grandma Sweeney brought Bennet the coolest derby hat! And she loved it!

Licking the spatula- the second best thing to eating the cupcakes

That's my Sister!

I am so proud of my sister Katie that I just had to post about it. She has been growing her hair out and yesterday donated it to Locks of Love. She had 8 inches cut off. Way to go Katie! I know I wouldn't have the patience. Someone will really benefit from your generosity! This is before:

This is how it looks now.

Locks of Love is an organization that provides hairpieces to children suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses Locks of Love provides help to restore the children's self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

Spring Monday

Spring is on its way to Wisconsin. The snow is melting, the birds are chirping and the thermometer hit 50+ today!

I came home from work today to see Bennet in full spring attire. She has been on a bead/lei kick lately. Her friend Aiden from Michigan sent her some new beads which she promptly ripped from my hands and put on. I'm not sure where the obsession with the hula skirt came from but it's hilarious. THANK YOU AIDEN! I LOVE MY NEW BEADS! That was very thoughtful of you!
Then we took a walk to the park. This weather is just amazing. Bennet loved the swing. As you can see there is still snow which means mud, but soon Bennet will be able to run free!

Elk River Weekend

I had some chairs to drop off for work in Minneapolis, so Bennet and I went to Elk River for the weekend. Nick stayed home and spent the weekend painting our hallway. We had the chance to celebrate Great Grandma Leona and her twin sister Levina's 91st birthdays too.
Now that's alot of snow!

Megan, me and Katie doing dishes. And the elusive Crock Pot :)

Uncle Matt & Bennet. She LOVES her Mardi Gras beads. The first thing she asks for in the morning, after breakfast, after nap- you get the picture. (And Stoli Kitty of course)

The birthday girls. Leona (sitting) Levina (standing)
A classic pose at the Trunnell house after a long day. I will say- the new couches are comfy!

And my new favorite photo of Bennet. Little show off with her model pose. Pasta face and all. She looks more like a toddler every day!

Giggles

Bennet is a happy, animated kid. She is pretty easy going and really likes to smile. But when it comes to laughing or giggling- you have to work for it! We were lucky enough to get some on video. Ignore my unmatched pjs. After the work day it's all about comfort.
