At the Park with Grandma S.

Grandma Sweeney surprised Bennet with a trip to the park yesterday. It was a beautiful Indian Summer day. Not sure how many more days like that we'll have.

Earlier this summer B was a little afraid of the big swirly slide. She's go down too fast and didn't quite have the control she wanted. Last weekend when we went to the park she couldn't get enough of it. Up and down, up and down. I'm always amazed what a difference a week or two can do in terms of her comfort level and ability to do new things.

Bennet came home covered in head to toe with sand. In her shoes, down her pants, in her hair, under her nails. The next photos explain why.

Thank you Grandma! Bennet had a blast and I enjoyed getting a little cat nap with Scout.

Bennet & Scout

People have asked if Scout looks like Bennet. I see some similarities, (Sweeney mouth, nose) but I also see some things that are distinctly 'her'. Scout's eyes are much darker. What do you think?

Visitors and Fall Cleaning

Grandma Trunnell and Aunt Megan came to visit for the weekend. They were a big help! Our house is actually clean. Windows, floors, hasta cut back, laundry, the whole nine yards. It looks and feels great! It's a great fall Sunday here. Sun is shining, dinner is in the crock pot and Bonus- the Packers WON! Whoo hoo!

Plus Bennet got tons of playtime outside in which she LOVED. Thanks for all your help! Fall is in the air. Our tree out front is changing from top to bottom. The weekend weather was gorgeous! Saturday morning we went to the Farmer's Market for some Honey Crisp apples, pumpkins and a corn stalk. Everytime I'm at the Market I think of my friend Carla who is a canning fiend! Thinking how I'd have to hold her back :)

Bennet wanted to hold Grandma's hand and her hand only.

Travis, Karin and Lauren Weiss stopped over to meet Scout Saturday afternoon too. No photos. :( But it was wonderful to see them. It had really been too long.

Nick went to our friend Dan's (and Becky) wedding Sat. afternoon. Congrats to the Guite's! Then the two of us snuck out for an hour to the reception.

Sunday morning story time with Grandma. Reading her new favorite book "What are you doing Maisy?" (Thank you Williams family!)

Scout wet through her pj's so it was prime time for a bath. She looks bigger here than she is. She's up to 7 lbs. 2 oz. which is great!
Bennet loves to help during diaper changes. She takes the dirties and throws them away. Brought her stool into the nursery to get a better view.
Nick deep cleaned the Saab today. Bennet wanted to help. Now if she can continue that when she's older we'll be set.
I know I look tired, but believe it or not I got a lot of sleep this weekend.

And just a new photo that I like.

First Week

Hard to believe a week has gone by already. To think originally we weren't going to meet her until tomorrow. :) Thanks to everyone for the cards, calls and well wishes.

We are all adjusting well. So far Bennet really likes her sister. Whenever she wakes up from a nap the first thing she does is goes to look for 'Cout'. I am trying to take it easy and rest when I can. I'm enjoying my 2 hour spurts of sleep.

Scout is definitely her own gal. We see similarities between her and Bennet, but she really has her own spirit. She's a wiggle monster that's for sure. And we think her eyes will end up green or brown- they're really dark.
Getting ready to leave the hospital. Thanks to Mark, Sara, Mallory and Meghan for the cute outfit. Mallory- you picked a winner! Bennet fell in love with her cousin's Cozy Coupe so we got one for her. She LOVES it! (Pardon our 'well lived in' basement. Side note- I've had those darn 'Elephant Pants' since college. Some comfy clothes you just can't retire)

B saw me turn on the camera and posed for this photo.

Typical scene at our house right now. Mouth open and everything. Classic.

I know it's just gas- but she smiles alot. I think she has a little dimple on her right cheek too.

And now for my new all-time favorite photos. Of course I'm still hormonal- but I choke up when I see them. I am truly blessed to have a healthy, happy family.

Hospital Photos

Some photos that the nurses took at the hospital. I'm bummed that some of them are fuzzy- but what can you do?

We call Scout a little turtle. She sticks her neck out and makes these little faces. So cute I tell ya!

Babies abound! Congrats to Kristin and family who welcomed a daughter on Sunday, Sept. 9th and our dear friends Nate & Amy who welcomed Brooke Madison on Monday, Sept. 10th. And best wishes to our friend Dawn who is delivering her 4th son today.

More Photos of Scout (and family)

I took this photo of myself Tuesday morning before work. My last belly photo. Scrapped it Tuesday night. Had Scout yesterday. Just crazy.

A rare photo with her eyes open. I think she looks a little like Bennet did as a baby but really has her own look too. Bennet picked out a duck balloon. Her favorite animal right now. She just chased it around yelling 'Caw Caw' Her version of quack quack.

The 4 of us. How cool is it to be able to say that. Nick and his girls.

B was more interested in my cell phone than her sister. Oh well.

Bennet in her Big Sisters Rock shirt. Nick being a goofball.

B sneaking a peek with cousin Meghan.

Scout Ann. So cute I tell ya! Grandma and Grandpa Sweeney
