Baby Blue Eyes
Bennet still has blue eyes. One of the few physical traits from the Trunnell side of the family. My sister Katie's eyes are blue as are my grandfather's. My eyes are green and Nick's (along with his entire family) are brown. Who knew? I've heard that eyes can still change color as we get older, but I'm loving the blue.

Walking Tall
I participate in some online scrapbook challenges. I know- total geek right? But it keeps me on my toes and helps me think outside the box. This challenge was to make a modified movie poster. Nick helped with some of it, but I did my fair share too. The wording on the bottom reads:
1/5/07 was her first steps. 1/17/07 was when she really started moving.

My Best Friend
When Bennet was born Nick went to the hospital gift shop and bought her a stuffed animal that looked like our cat Stoli. (Yes- she has one that looks like Jones, but it gets no love)

Bennet has loved this poor thing to pieces. Her Velveteen Rabbit. All the fluff has gone. The ears are ratty and smell like Children's Tylenol from her chewing on them. What was once white is now taupe. It truly is a bacterial nightmare. But it is her woobie, her security, her best friend. Not a night has gone by without her hugging Stoli Kitty as she falls asleep.

We have been looking high and low for 6 months to find a replacement. Turns out it was a limited edition and was retired. We did an extensive online search without any luck. (minus one in Great Britian for the tune of 50 pounds!) Nick went back to the hospital on her 1st birthday to look. I had even written a sob letter to the manufacturer directly.

Dad- you promise everything will be ok right? Just put on my magic hat just in case :)

The original Stoli Kitty came out of the wash in one piece. It still looks pretty dingy, but it smells 100% better. Not sure if Era is antibacterial, but it is a little cleaner none the less.

I checked ebay regularly without success. And then, one Sunday morning there it was. The Mary Meyer Sweet Cherise cat! With a buy now option for $15! JACKPOT! Since we had a replacement we felt it was safe to give the original Stoli Kitty a bath.
Into the bag it goes.

Static Electricity Anyone?
Bennet's good friend Heather posted a similar photo on her blog- check it out. http://jenkins-family.blogspot.com/
It's a combination of our dry house in the winter and the fleece blanket (thanks again Katie- we use it all the time) that make her hair stand on end. Andrea- notice anything familiar?

Hair!!
A couple of years ago we inherited Sally, the one handed mannequin as a white elephant gift. Yes- we have a full size mannequin. Talk about CRAZY in the head! I'm not sure why we still have it. But- her wig makes for an evening of entertainment.
Getting ready for her teen years rebellion. "You can't make me! I'm a rock star!"
Nick had to get in on the fun. Creepy.
How do you think she looks as a brunette? I think she looks alot like our niece MoMo here.

Let it SNOW!!
We celebrated Bennet's 13-month birthday with some play time in the snow. She LOVED it! It was the nice and fluffy snow. Thanks again to Grandma and Grandpa T for the cool sled. And thanks to Grandma and Grandpa S for the cool toque direct from Finland!
We pulled in circles and she squealed with joy!

I'm queen of the mountian! SO BIG!
Got to Keep Movin'
Bennet took a couple cautious steps a couple of weeks ago. And since then she still prefers crawling over walking. Until this week. She's starting to get more daring. 13 months old today and moving all over the place!
