Bennet has loved this poor thing to pieces. Her Velveteen Rabbit. All the fluff has gone. The ears are ratty and smell like Children's Tylenol from her chewing on them. What was once white is now taupe. It truly is a bacterial nightmare. But it is her woobie, her security, her best friend. Not a night has gone by without her hugging Stoli Kitty as she falls asleep.
We have been looking high and low for 6 months to find a replacement. Turns out it was a limited edition and was retired. We did an extensive online search without any luck. (minus one in Great Britian for the tune of 50 pounds!) Nick went back to the hospital on her 1st birthday to look. I had even written a sob letter to the manufacturer directly.I checked ebay regularly without success. And then, one Sunday morning there it was. The Mary Meyer Sweet Cherise cat! With a buy now option for $15! JACKPOT! 
Since we had a replacement we felt it was safe to give the original Stoli Kitty a bath.
Into the bag it goes.
Dad- you promise everything will be ok right? Just put on my magic hat just in case :)
The original Stoli Kitty came out of the wash in one piece. It still looks pretty dingy, but it smells 100% better. Not sure if Era is antibacterial, but it is a little cleaner none the less.

The original Stoli came out a little cleaner. It definetely smelled better. The brand new Stoli is safely hidden until it needs to make it's debut.
Whew...I was on the edge of my seat too! I'm glad Stoli Kitty at least smells a bit better. At this rate you may have to look for replacements 2-10. It seems Bennet loves her kitty!

I'm glad you finally found a new one. That old one was disgusting, but it sure does have character.
I'm glad the old Stoli survived the washing! We have a few toys here that are loved and looking similar! Glad you have a replacement just in case.
